From the North

From Newburgh-Beacon Bridge

Cross Newburgh-Beacon Bridge.  Stay to the right; pay toll and take the first exit (Exit 11), which is Route 9D.  Make a right onto 9D South.  Stay on 9D South 13 miles from bridge, through Cold Spring into Garrison and come to a traffic light at Route 9D and Route 403.  Continue on Route 9D South.  *** See instructions below.

 

84 West and Route 9

South on Route 9 to Route 301 in Cold Spring.  Make a right onto 301 and proceed to next traffic light, which is Route 9D. to the traffic light at Route 301 (Main St.) and Route 9D.  Make a left onto 9D South and follow 9D South approximately 5 miles to a traffic light at Route 9D and 403.  Continue on Route 9D South.  *** See instructions below.

 

From the South

From 287

Take Exit 3 Sprain Brook Parkway 5.2 miles to 9A 100.  Exit onto 9A.  Go 5.6 miles on 9A and it will join Route 9 in Peekskill.  Stay on Route 9 North (9A splits off, but you stay on 9) 13.7 miles to Route 403.  There is a light there, turn left on Route 403.  Go 2.2 miles to Light and turn left onto 9D.  *** See instructions below.

 

From Interstate 95

Take 95 South to 287 West in New York State.  Proceed on 287 West towards the Tappan Zee Bridge.  Take Exit 3 (Sprain Brook/Taconic Parkways.)  TakeTaconic Parkway North (Toward Albany.)  Follow the Taconic Parkway to Route 202/Peekskill.  Turn left at end of the exit and follow 202 for about 5 miles to the Bear Mountain Parkway West (make right turn after the bowling alley.) Follow Bear Mountain Parkway to Highland Avenue exit.  Continue down the hill and merge into Route 9 North.  Go 3 miles on Route 9 North (pass Graymoor on right).  At the junction of Route 403 and Route 9.  At the light, make a left turn onto Route 403.  Go 2.2 miles to Light and turn left onto 9D.  *** See instructions below.

 

From Connecticut

Route 95 to Route 287 North to Sprain Brook Parkway.  (Sprainbrook becomesTaconic Parkway)  Taconic Parkway North to Route 9A/100 exit.  9A eventually merges with Route 9 (stay on Route 9 for about 20 minutes) to the junction of Route 9 and 403.  At the light, make a left onto Route 403.  Go 2.2 Miles To Light And Turn Left Onto 9D.   *** See instructions below.

OR (simpler but a little longer) Route 287 to Tappan Zee Bridge Palisades Parkway North to Bear Mountain Bridge. Cross the bridge and turn left onto Route 9D North.  Follow 9D North for about 3 ½ miles (you will see a long 1/20 mile white fence on the left side of Route 9D, we are the next property on your left. 

 

From the Mass. Pike and Interstate 84

Take the Mass. Pike (90) West to I-84 West.  Proceed through Hartford intoNew York State.  Once in New York, stay on 84 West to Exit 13S, which readsPeekskill, Route 9 South.  Proceed south on Route 9 until Route 301 in Cold Spring.  Make a right onto 301 and proceed to next traffic light, which is Route 9D.  Make a left onto 9D South approximately 5 miles to a traffic light at Route 9D and Route 403.  Continue on Route 9D South.  Go 2.2 miles to Light and turn left onto 9D. *** See instructions below.

 

From New York City

#1 Take the Major Deegan Expressway/New York Thruway to Saw Mill River Parkway connections.  Follow Saw Mill Parkway to the Taconic Parkway North(Toward Albany).  Follow the Taconic Parkway to Route 202/Peekskill.  Turn left at end of the exit and follow 202 for about 5 miles to the Bear Mountain Parkway West (make a right turn after the bowling alley.)  Follow Bear Mountain Parkwayto Highland Avenue exit.  Continue down the hill and merge into Route 9 North. Go 3 miles on Route 9 North (pass Graymoor on right).  At the light, make a left on Route 403.  Go 2.2 Miles To Light And Turn Left Onto 9D.   *** See instructions below.

 

#2 From New Jersey take Palisades Parkway North.  Follow Palisades Parkway North to the Bear Mountain Bridge.  Cross the bridge and turn left onto Route 9D North.  Follow 9D North for about 3 ½ miles (you will see a long 1/20 mile white fence on the left side of Route 9D, we are the next property on your left.

 

#3 Bronx River Parkway North to the Sprain Brook Parkway North to theTaconic Parkway North (toward Albany.)  Follow the Taconic Parkway to Route 202/Peekskill.  Turn left at end of the exit and follow 202 for about 5 miles to theBear Mountain Parkway West (make a right turn after the bowling alley.)  FollowBear Mountain Parkway to Highland Avenue exit.  Continue down the hill and merge into Route 9 North.  Go 3 miles on Route 9 North (pass Graymoor on right).  At the light, make a left on Route 403.  Go 2.2 Miles To Light And Turn Left Onto 9D.   *** See instructions below.

 

From Long Island

Take either the Whitestone or Throgs Neck Bridges to the Cross BronxExpressway North to the Bronx River Parkway North to the Sprain Brook Parkway North.  (These parkways run into each other.  There is no exiting from one to the next.)  Follow the directions from #1 above.  *** See instructions below.

 

From Mahopac and Points East

Take Route 6 to Bear Mountain Parkway West. Follow Bear Mountain Parkwayto Highland Avenue exit.  Continue down the hill and merge into Route 9 North. Go 3 miles on Route 9 North (pass Graymoor on right).  At the light, make a left on Route 403.  Go 2.2 Miles To Light And Turn Left Onto 9D.   *** See instructions below.

 

***Travel approximately 1.2 miles south on Route 9D (you will pass the Highland Golf Course and the Garrison Institute on your right.)  Turn right at the blue and white sign, which reads Capuchin Franciscan Youth and Family Ministries.

 

Upon entering the property St. Francis’ Retreat House will be the red brick building right in front of you.  St. Clare’s Hall (gym and offices) bear to your right and go to the red barn like building.

If you are coming to the center for one of our programs go directly to St. Francis Retreat House.
