Cap Corps Volunteers, New York

Building Today’s Young Leaders…Rebuilding Today’s Catholic Church

In the spirit of Jesus Christ and Francis of Assisi, the Capuchin Franciscan Volunteer Corps (Cap Corps) is a community of women and men who serve among people in need as full-time volunteers, sharing common prayer and simple living.   Cap Corps volunteers minister with people as Jesus and Francis of Assisi did. The home life of volunteers images the early Church and the first followers of St. Francis by living in community with one another, sharing prayer, and reflecting together and with Capuchin Franciscan friars on their experience of life and ministry.

Cap Corps Volunteers at CYFM in Garrison, NY:

The Lord spoke to St. Francis saying, ”Go, rebuild my Church which has fallen into ruin.” In the spirit and tradition of St. Francis, Cap Corps Volunteers at CYFM help to rebuild today’s Catholic Church through mentoring the faith life of teenagers and their families. Through designing and leading retreats, running weekly youth group meetings in a parish, and serving and facilitating outreach programs, Cap Corps Volunteers witness to their faith in many ways and by doing so are transformed in the process.
