In our latest installment of webinars on Franciscan ongoing formation, Br. Richard Crawley, who serves our parishes in southern Vermont, gives a talk titled “Penance: The Practice of Being What We Already Are.”

Brother Richard does a close reading of the Gospels of Luke and Matthew to compare and contrast Jesus' use of salt and light as metaphors for discipleship. He debunks the modern meaning we place on salt and rediscovers the two uses of salt in the first century that Jesus used to embolden his disciples. We give thanks for Brother Richard's exegesis of Scripture. May his presentation strengthening our own Capuchin entity and your own walk in faith with Christ.
