Br. Samuel Fuller, who has been a sculptor for decades, is displaying his works in an exhibition focused on the beauty of nature.
The exhibition, “The Beauty of the Earth,” opens on Sept. 21 at The Monastery Gallery of Art at the Holy Family Passionist Retreat Center in West Hartford, Conn. It will run until Jan. 4. The gallery is holding the exhibition in conjunction with the Christian Contemplative Experience at Holy Family.
The exhibition features two dozen of Brother Sam’s pieces, of which two of these, “The Joy of Hope” (above left) and “Destiny of Glory” (above right), are inspired by Romans 8:18-27.
Brother Sam and the other artists in the exhibition will appear at a reception at the gallery on Friday, Oct. 9, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. He will be giving three conferences on Saturday, Oct. 10, titled “For the Beauty of the Earth: Sculpture as Prayer; Beauty, the Apophatic, and Hope.” To register for the conferences, please click here.
