“For it is in giving that we receive.”

— St. Francis of Assisi

The Capuchin Franciscan Friars of the Province of St. Mary depend upon the support of our friends. You are an integral part of the Capuchin mission because you help ensure that we have a life-changing impact on the people we are privileged to serve, especially the poor and marginalized.

Your spiritual and financial support provides the foundation for the many vital ministries and other works of the Province, including preparing new Capuchins for a lifetime of service; sharing our Franciscan ideals locally and internationally; caring for our friars in their later years; and building strong, faith-based relationships with young people and their families to expand our Catholic community.

Ways to give

All donations for Mass cards help fund our ministries in missions around the world.

Because as Catholics we believe that the Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life, The Capuchin Franciscan Friars of the Province of St. Mary would be honored to remember your special intentions for the living or deceased at the Eucharist.

We have a beautiful selection of Mass cards that feature classic works of religious art and imagery, two for the deceased, one for the sick and another for a special intention. Mass Cards intended for the special intentions of the living can be mailed directly to friends or family. If you want us to offer Mass for the deceased, we can send it to a family member of the person who has died or directly to you to give to the family of the deceased.

A suggested donation of $10 for each Mass card is requested. All donations for Mass cards help fund our ministries in missions around the world.

Members are forever remembered in the daily Masses and prayers offered by the friars

Since 1952, the Capuchin Franciscan Friars of the Province of St. Mary have been doing God’s work by providing services to thousands in need including the poor, the homeless, the lost, and the sick throughout New York, New England, and in our foreign missions. The support we receive through estate gifts will help provide the resources necessary to continue our pastoral care for God’s people into the future overcoming the challenges of poverty, violence and injustice.

You can ensure that our friars have the resources necessary to continue to educate our young brothers, care for our elderly friars, and evangelize the young – while always serving those in most need through a planned gift. Planned gifts include charitable trusts and gifts through estate plans, including wills, trusts, retirement plans and life insurance.

Individuals who make planned gift commitments to the Province become members of our Capuchin Legacy Society. Members are forever remembered in the daily Masses and prayers offered by the friars and have their name inscribed in the Society’s Book of Honor.

The Capuchin Mission Association

The Capuchin Franciscan Friars of the Province of St. Mary devote their lives to serving the poor, the tired, the vulnerable—those most in need, following in the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi.

To do this work, our friars depend on the compassionate support of people like you, who join in their efforts to serve those most in need by contributing to the Province of St. Mary. In so doing, you become part of our Capuchin community, an ally in our efforts to care for all of God’s people, wherever they are and whatever their situation.

The Capuchin Mission Association is a way through which members can become partners with Capuchin missionaries who show the love of God to people in need throughout the world.  By enrolling someone in the Association, that person will share in the spiritual benefits of the good works and the Masses that are celebrated by Capuchin friars throughout the developing world.

This can be a wonderful gesture of kindness and faith and can be used as a remembrance of a deceased loved one; an expression of sympathy for someone who has recently died; a request for healing; or for a celebration of a special occasion like a anniversary, birthday, etc. These enrollments come with a special card and are available at all of our Capuchin parish offices.

While gifts of all sizes are gratefully received and carefully expended, we at the Province of St. Mary extend a special thank-you to the members of the Capuchin Giving Societies. God bless every one of you for your contributions to the tireless work of our Capuchin Franciscan Friars.

Building a Church

Christianity and Catholicism, in particular, is growing rapidly in Africa. Our brother friars in Uganda are having great success spreading the Gospel in a remote location in Uganda. In a short amount of time, they have built a spiritual center that attracts over 80 people daily and over 200 for Mass on weekends. A church is now needed. A caring donor (who wishes to remain anonymous) has offered to match up to $100,000 in donations for the construction of this church. The donor’s words say it best: “I would like to be listed as one who helped Our Lord in His mission of bringing the “Good News” to those who need to hear it . . . I am hoping others will join in this effort to help build Our Lord’s Church”.
